No New Posts THRONE ROOM

A picture of elegance all its own, the queen's throne room is stunning from marble trappings to stain glass windows. The room is large and a pristine white, with the queen's plush throne elevated a level or two above the floor with a romantic mosaic backdrop. Few are allowed past the guards at the door save for members of the court and personal guests, though it is rare for wandering stragglers to even find the hallowed room amidst the castle's winding halls and many levels.

No New Posts GRAND BALLROOM

A hauntingly beautiful room that proves to be the most lively and the most beautiful room in the castle, illuminated by masterfully crafted chandeliers hanging along the cathedral ceiling. Music is always heard playing behind the massive oak doors and the polished marble floors are often full of the dancing aristocrats that attend the queen and her court's high-class masquerades and simple galas. In some circumstances, the royal family hosts dancing lessons within the ballroom for the privileged to better themselves, though otherwise it is explicitly invite-only.

No New Posts GRAND STUDY

A grand study located in the west wing of the queen's personal hall with a decorative sense of dignity in its design. The study is lined almost wall-to-wall with high shelves and rows of texts ranging from maps to textbooks used for anything and everything, for the good of the kingdom or for simple boredom, while the rounded shape allows for a sizable desk set in the center. During the day, natural sunlight is allowed to filter in through the large windows while evening visits are illuminated by several chandeliers along the high ceiling.

No New Posts DUNGEONS

Deep beneath the castle's beautiful floors and sacred rooms lies the den of the forsaken of Alborne, be they prisoners of the war or dissenters. Stagnant water drips from the ceilings, the cells are cramped and unkempt, and the sound of rusty chains clanking and dry throats groaning is all that echoes against the dungeon walls. There are few guards and none of them take kindly to those imprisoned within the castle walls aside from the occasional honorable burial. It's best to stay out of trouble in Alborne.

Board Description

Byzantine is a spectacular centerpiece marked by whimsical architecture and a refined, imposing nature that reminds all who gaze upon it that Byzantine doubles not only as the queen's home and the court's headquarters but as a bastion as well. The surrounding greenery is well-kempt and the halls are spacious and decorated with portraits of the royal family. In times of peace, there are often magnificent galas to entertain the upper-class, with the occasional low-brow games to appease the less fortunate citizens when they grow idle and restless.
